Basing business on cultures insures
success for agent
ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich, USA (April 2, 2008). Patricia Ouellette,
president of The Grace Insurance Agency, understands that personal
and business success is tied to connecting with clients based on culture.
By concentrating on three specific groups, Ouellette is able to fully
understand the needs and desires of her clients. For example, she has
found that many Hispanics and Latinos struggle to find a policy that fits
their specific needs. By becoming involved with members of the comm-
unity she has become quite talented and matching people with insurance
programs that meet their needs.
“I ask questions to get to know the challenges facing each client,” she says. “It is important to protect people from serious
financial difficulties. I take the time to match them to a policy they can afford without selling benefits they don't need or want.”
Ouellette opened The Grace Insurance Agency in the Farmers Insurance Building on Telegraph Road in Pontiac just south of
Huron. In the first year she has seen her client base grow as her cultural awareness grows. Initially she offered Farmers
Insurance but quickly found that she needed insurance products from other insurers in order to meet the unique needs of the
community she serves.
The Pontiac, Waterford, and Auburn Hills area is attractive to Ouellette as she takes great satisfaction in working with the
cultures in these communities.
Ouellette also specializes in two additional important cultures: women and churchgoers. She feels that by concentrating on
specific cultures she can form stronger relationships and better meet the needs of individuals -- something she would not enjoy if
she had a more general client base.
