Multicultural Community Partnership to
exchange Gifts with Sewing Club in Ghana
DETROIT, Mich., USA. (February 15, 2008). The Community Sewing Club of the Multicultural Community
Partnership presented Joseph P. Cool with craft items, known in Africa as Batik, to be exchanged with
Boatemaa Batiks, a sewing club in Akwamu, Ghana, as part of the initial phase of Mosaic Ghana/Africa. Items
included dolls, jewelry, and printed t-shirts made by the sewing club at MPC’s facitilities on Forest Avenue in
Detroit.

Mrs. Lillie Wimberly, President of Multicultural Community Partnership, is excited about having a sister
organization in Ghana. MCP provides job skills and technical education to Detroit's inner city. This is the first
time the organization has participated in an exchange of items with another group. “I am excited about Mr.
Cool presenting our Batik in Ghana which I strongly feel will create and share hope for good business
exchange”, said Mrs. Wimberley.

Mosaic Ghana is a cultural and business mission to take place in late 2008 or early 2009.  The trip will
develop joint ventures and partnerships for Michigan companies to sell their products and services to
businesses in Ghana.

A foundational trip begins on February 16 when Joseph P. Cool of Cool and Associates, Inc. will visit
business, government, and academic leaders in four cities in Ghana. “I’m privileged to have the opportunity to
be part of this process of exchanging African Batik with my motherland”, said Kofi Annorh, President of
Divine Breeze.

It is during this foundational trip that an exchange of Batik will take place.  Cool will take the items crafted by
members of the Community Sewing Club to Boatemaa Batiks in Akwamu. Boatemaa Batiks will in turn
present African Batik to Cool for presentation and display at the Multicultural Community Partnership’s
Detroit center.

The initial trip has an impressive backing of companies seeking to do business or establish relationships with
organizations in Africa. Cool will also be representing several southeastern Michigan companies that have
asked him to introduce and represent their products and services during this initial visit.

Mosaic Ghana was a vision of Frank Russell of Pontiac.  A coalition consisting of MBC Global, Cool &
Associates, Divine Breeze, and Russell and Associates is coordinating Mosaic Ghana. The goal is to connect
businesses and academia through joint ventures and partnerships.

Mosaic is a trademark of MBC Global for cultural and trade missions.
